The nurse retention program focuses on attracting and retaining nurses in Beaufort County and Jasper Counties who graduate from our local nursing schools at TCL and USCB. It is financial aid, post graduation in return for working in our local communities.

Over 85% of adults with disabilities are unemployed nationally. This statistic is echoed in our local area and vocational training and social opportunities here are extremely limited. The Programs for Exceptional People (PEP) organizations mission is to provide a supportive environment where our members learn, work, grow, and engage with others. Our members participate in daily learning activities, receive on-the-job training with experienced vocational instructors and gain valuable social interactions.

Members of the 100MWC met the Hunger Coalition board members at the Shelter Cove Community Park for a check presentation. BPB board members will be sharing how our donation will be used to help children at our February 17th meeting.
Our local Rotary Club is sponsoring a fundraiser and silent auction for two of our island charities September 18th. For $15 pay to play Putt-Putt and check out the items on the silent auction. Anytime prior to 5pm Saturday.
Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, contacted 100MWC to sponsor a team or a sign for their event September 25th at Shelter Cove. Basically, for $100, we, anyone can add a sign to the event to encourage walkers.
The 100MWC’s team has moved up to 5th place in the fundraising activity. Great job!
The Autism Foundation has been nominated by S. Wild for consideration. The Lowcountry Autism Foundation is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families through individually designed programming, advocacy, and awareness efforts.

Members presented our July ’21 collective donation of $11,700 to the Boys and Girls Club of Hilton Head Island on August 10th. We participated in a tour of the facility and met members of the local Boys and Girls Club.

HHH has been nominated by Stan Smith for consideration during one of our next meetings. The Hilton Head Hero’s mission is “To provide one week dream vacations for families with terminally ill children on the Hilton Head Island.

Phil Hartman nominated the Hospice Care of the Lowcountry for consideration which is an independent, community-based, non-profit organization established to give comfort, honor and dignity for end of life patients and their families.
