The Sea Pines Country Club setup a great room over looking the marsh for the group as always. We started the meeting about 3 minutes late as the last golfers arranged their beverage from the bar. It is very helpful to have a well appointed venue in a casual setting to discuss the needs of the community.
We try to start the meeting with a topic about the community that we all can learn from. Colleen shared the vision of the Hilton Head Community Market. We learned how the Farmer’s Market provides products to residents and helps nonprofits in the area.
Our winter meeting resulted in our distribution going to The Children’s Center. Jody from the center shared how they were able to open a new room for biggest current need supporting the youngest kids in our community..
Member’s presented opportunities to support Deep Well, the Hunger Coalition, and Kairos Prison Ministries. Votes were tabulated with a decsion to support the Backpack Buddies of the Hunger Coalition.
